…and then a plane crashed at the Four Corners

Oshawa Ontario developed from the Lake Ontario end of an aboriginal trade route that went to lake Scugog and beyond.  For the European newcomers, the village then town became equally import ant and Oshawa became one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario. Oshawa always had a lot of money, sadly enough that it could tear down and rebuild regularly.  As a result downtown Oshawa lacks to cultured heritage architecture of many other northshore Lake Ontario communities.

Seeing these images in the Robert McLaughlin Gallery Thomas Bouckley Collection, I thought of those beautiful buildings that had long since been replaced by some of the most banal structures imaginable.  Perhaps a fourth plane crash at the Four Corners would improve the cityscape.
